Blog Hop + Abilmente Fair + Giveaway

        The lovely Jillian from Sew Unravelled nominated me to carry on with this current blog hop the origins of which seem to be surrounded in mystery -wouldn’t be cool to find out who exactly started it!?
        Anyway, Jillian (I’m amazed by Jillian not only she is a fantastic sewer, she works, she studies and she is a mom!) thinks I’m sweet! That is so nice of her! I think my fiancee, for one, would disagree - and here is why:

        Expressions (edited out from posts ;) ) ranging from mildly annoyed to outright murderous: “if you don’t quit fooling around I’m going to bite your head off!” sort of stuff. They are all aimed at the man behind the camera (my fiancee of course) who often says that the only thing missing from the shots is a lupara on my shoulder… hmmm.

        Why do you write?
        When I started sewing no one else among my family and friends could really understand why and even thought it to be a waste of time (which was really annoying) … so I needed to find people who “got it” and to find a way to interact with them. Besides, my doctor thought writing was a wonderful idea … so I started doing it and this blog was born. I do not particularly enjoy writing, I just do it because it’s challenging and if you followed my sewing “adventures” you might have noticed I love a good challenge and it did allow me to connect with some wonderful people and I hope it will keep on doing so.

        What are you working on?
        I’m preparing for the Abilmente Fair one of the most important european fairs dedicated to the creative handicrafts.
        I’ll be joining in Vicenza, Anna from Paunnet, Silvia from Sewing Princess, Annika from Näh-Connection and the designers behind Pauline Alice Patterns, Deer and Doe, Aime comme Marie, and Compagnie M. Together will do some sewing, some chatting and get to know each other a little better. I hope you’ll come to find us!!!         How does it differ from others of its genre?
        If “it” means writing - I am no poet and I think my writing is sort of bad. If “it” is the blog itself and my sewing … I could write something complicated involving the words italian, style, taste etc… but would sound like cheap propaganda don’t you think? The blog pretty much represents me. And like me it’s slightly psychotic, slightly hypomaniac and terribly uneven. Everyone is different.

        How does your writing process work?
        Like going to the dentist - take a deep breath … sit in the chair .. hope for the best and get it over with!

        Who is next?
        SARA - Me and Sara started blogging pretty much at the same time! I was the first to comment on her blog she was the first to comment on mine! I like to think we have a special connection. She is an incredible sewer, such a stylish lady and I’m always looking forward to her comments - she always manages to have something meaningful to say!
        ANNIE - I just love everything Annie does! Her writing is beautiful (she made me fell in love with french language again - I actually bought a french course!!!), her clothes are beautiful, her blog is beautiful - I think she is an all-around beautiful and talented person … one of those girls you would just love to meet.

Blog Hop + Fiera Abilmente + Giveaway

        Jillian del blog Sew Unravelled mi ha nominata per questo blog hop dalle origini sconosciute. Sarebbe interessante sapere da dove è partito!
        Comunque, Jillian pensa che sono una ragazza dolce! E lei, troppo carina! Penso che il mio fidanzato, tanto per cominciare sarebbe in disaccordo - ecco perché:

        Questa carrellata di espressioni (tagliate nel editing degli articoli ;) ) che vanno dall’infastidita all’omicida: ”se non la smetti di fare il pagliaccio ti stacco la testa a morsicate!” è rivolta perlopiù all’uomo dietro la macchina fotografica (il mio fidanzato ovviamente) solito a dire che dalle inquadrature manca qualcosa … la lupara sulla spalla…. hmmm.

        Perché scrivi?
        Quando ho cominciato a cucire nessuno tra i miei amici e parenti riusciva capire il perché, anzi pensavano fosse una perdita di tempo… perciò ho sentito il bisogno di trovare altre persone con i miei stessi interessi ed una modalità di interagire con loro. In più il mio medico pensava scrivere fosse una buona idea.. così è nato questo piccolo blog. Non amo particolarmente scrivere. Scrivo perché è una sfida e chi tra voi segue le mie “avventure sartoriali” sa quanto mi piacciono le sfide. Scrivo perché mi ha permesso di conoscere gente fantastica e spero continui a farlo.

        A cosa stai lavorando?
        Mi sto preparando per Abilmente Autunno di Vicenza. Sarò presente in Fiera accanto ad Anna di Paunnet, Silvia di Sewing Princess, Annika di Näh-Connection e le designer dietro Pauline Alice Patterns, Deer and Doe, Aime comme Marie, e Compagnie M. Assieme faremmo scorrere un po di filo sotto i piedini delle macchine da cucire e quattro chiacchiere per conoscerci un po meglio. Spero verrete a trovarci!!!         Come si distingue da altro dello stesso genere!
        Se per “altro” intendiamo scrittura … ebbene - non sono esattamente una poetessa e generalmente parlando penso di scrivere piuttosto male. Se intendiamo blog di cucito sartoriale ecc. - questo blog mi rappresenta. E’ come me, un po psicotico, un po ipomaniaco e terribilmente non lineare. Ognuno di noi è diverso.

        Qual’è il tuo processo di scrittura?
        E’ molto simile all’andare dal dentista - fai un bel respiro … ti siedi nella poltrona .. speri vada per il meglio e lo fai!

        Chi sono le prossime?
        SARA - Io e Sara abbiamo cominciato a “bloggare” più o meno nello stesso tempo. Lei è stata la prima a lasciare un commento sul mio blog, io la prima sul suo. Mi piace pensare di avere una connessione speciale con lei. Sara cuce in maniera incredibile ed il suo stile è inconfondibile - aspetto sempre con ansia i suoi commenti - non so come fa, ma trova sempre qualcosa d’interessante da dire.
        ANNIE - Adoro tutto quello che esce dalle mani di Annie! Il suo modo di scrivere è bellissimo (mi ha fatto riscoprire l'amore per il francese che avevo perso ai tempi del liceo - ho persino comprato un corso di francese), i vestiti che realizza sono bellissimi, il suo blog è bellissimo - tutto sommato penso che lei sia una bella persona, piena di talento - una di quelle ragazze che mi piacerebbe incontrare.
        Non vedo l’ora di leggere le vostre risposte Sara e Annie!!!
